Board of Secondary Education Karachi Kicks Off 9th & 10th Class Exams April 7

Over 3.85 Lakh Students Sit Matric Exams Across Karachi Under Tight Security and Zero Tolerance for Cheating

Karachi – The annual examinations for the ninth and tenth classes of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi started, with 3,85,000 candidates appearing for the examinations.

Strict monitoring system has been established in 521examination centers in the city. The computer subject paper will be held in the morning, while the science subject paper will be held in the afternoon.

Section 144 was imposed on all the adjacent areas of the examination centers. Twenty-five Hub Centers are established in 18 towns of the city.

To ensure fair and transparent examinations, Monitoring Cells have been set up at both the Matric Board Chairman’s office and the Commissioner’s office. Special vigilance and external teams have also been formed to keep cheating in check throughout the exam period.

Board Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho has made it clear that every examination centre must visibly display notices reminding students that mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly not allowed. He further cautioned that any cheating material discovered will be immediately confiscated.

Soho also confirmed that Section 144 will be enforced at all exam centres, with full cooperation from the Karachi Commissioner, DG Rangers, Additional IG, Director of Education Karachi, Director of Private Schools Sindh, and other relevant authorities — all working together to prevent any outside interference during the exams.

He further noted that photocopy shops near exam centres will be required to shut down during exam hours, cutting off a common source misused for cheating.

Pakistan grants visas on arrival to all delegates and journalists.

On the question paper side, a secure and organized distribution system has been put in place. Board officials will first deliver the papers to designated hub centres, from where centre superintendents — or their trusted representatives — will personally collect the sealed packets and bring them safely to their respective exam centres.
