Meta unveils Muse Spark AI model globally

Meta launches Muse Spark, faster smarter AI model for users

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Meta has introduced a new artificial intelligence model called Muse Spark, aiming to significantly boost performance and efficiency compared to its earlier systems. The company revealed that its Superintelligence Labs team spent the past nine months rebuilding its AI infrastructure from scratch to support this advancement.

Muse Spark replaces the earlier Llama 4, which had struggled to keep up with rapid developments in the global AI race. This new model is designed to be lightweight yet highly capable, handling complex reasoning tasks across areas like science, mathematics, and healthcare.

The model will power a wide range of Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, as well as its AI-powered applications and smart glasses. However, access is currently limited to users in the United States.

This launch comes after internal restructuring led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who prioritized the company’s push toward “superintelligence.” The shift included leadership changes, notably the exit of longtime AI research head Yann LeCun, and aggressive hiring efforts to bring in top talent from competing firms.

Among these moves, Meta recruited Alexandr Wang to lead its newly formed Superintelligence Labs division. The company also attracted experts from major AI competitors like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

Meta signaled a shift in its strategy, moving beyond its earlier focus on open-source models. Instead, it is now working toward “personal superintelligence” — AI designed to better understand individual users by integrating deeply with their digital lives.
