GILGIT: (Web Desk) – The Gilgit-Baltistan government has reassured Diamer-Bhasha Dam affectees that their legitimate concerns will be addressed on a priority basis. Provincial Information Minister Ghulam Abbas stated that the government remains committed to safeguarding the rights of those impacted, adding that the Chief Minister is actively engaging with federal authorities to expedite a solution.
He expressed optimism that progress will be made soon, noting that the government is also facilitating dialogue between affectees and Water and Power Development Authority to reach a mutually acceptable resolution.

The minister urged protesters to refrain from blocking highways, highlighting that road closures are creating hardships for the public, including patients and travelers. He also warned that such disruptions are harming tourism and the local economy.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Ghulam Abbas said all available resources are being utilized to resolve the matter and voiced hope for a positive outcome in the near future.
