Businessman killed resisting robbery at Islamabad farmhouse

Police said the victim, identified as Aamir Awan, was shot after he resisted the intruders.

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A businessman succumbed to injury after being shot by armed robbers during a robbery bid at his farmhouse in Islamabad, on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place late Sunday night within the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police station, where a group of robbers allegedly entered the farmhouse with the intent to commit a robbery.

Police said the victim, identified as Aamir Awan, was shot after he resisted the intruders.

He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries but later died during treatment.

The deceased was the owner of a car showroom at Aabpara.

Political figures, VIPs, and big shots, including an adviser to the prime minister, own property in the neighbourhood where the incident took place.

Police said the assailants fled the scene after the shooting, taking away Awan’s mobile phone as well as weapons belonging to his security guards.
