LAHORE: (Web Desk) – The annual matriculation examinations conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore are underway in the city, with students appearing for their English paper today (Monday).
The exam is being held in two shifts, with the morning session taking place in 801 examination halls, while the same paper will be conducted in 764 centres during the second shift.
This year, approximately 285,000 candidates are expected to take part in the matric exams across Lahore. To manage the large number of students, authorities have set up 880 examination centres throughout the city.

Strict measures have been implemented to ensure transparency and prevent cheating. Around 26 centres are being monitored through CCTV surveillance, while Section 144 has been enforced at all exam venues to maintain discipline and security.
Officials have also made it clear that only authorized individuals will be allowed inside examination centres, aiming to provide a fair and controlled environment for all candidates.
The matric exams will continue until April 16, with final papers scheduled for Punjabi and Islamic History. Following this, Class 9 examinations are set to begin on April 17.
