Israel kills Esmail Khatib, third top Iranian official in 48 hours

Israel claims third Iranian official killed as tensions rise fast

Iran Senior Leader – (Web Desk) – Tensions between Israel and Iran have sharply increased. On Wednesday, March 18, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Iran’s intelligence chief Esmaeil Khatib has been killed.

Iran has not confirmed this news yet.

If this report is true, it will be the third senior Iranian official killed within just 48 hours.

Earlier, Israeli air strikes on March 17 were said to have killed Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani. Both were important figures in Iran.

Their funerals were held on March 18, as the situation continues to grow more serious.

Katz said that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have given the Israeli military permission to eliminate other senior Iranian officials without needing approval, suggesting that the current pace of action is likely to continue.

After the news of back-to-back assassinations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the government does not rely on a single individual.

Responding to the loss of individuals, Iran has launched retaliatory missile attacks, raising fears that the tension in the region can escalate further.
