LAHORE (Web Desk):  Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has faced intense online criticism after her remarks about hiring preferences at her newly launched restaurant sparked controversy on social media.

The actress, who recently transitioned from modeling and acting into entrepreneurship, had spoken in a video about the challenges of finding reliable staff for her restaurant.

She said she preferred hiring Pashtuns, explaining that in her experience, they were hardworking and trustworthy, while some previous employees had been inconsistent or left their jobs abruptly.

However, the comments triggered widespread criticism online, with some users accusing her of stereotyping and discrimination against Punjabis.

The backlash escalated into targeted online harassment, with Khattak later sharing an emotional video claiming that her restaurant had become the target of coordinated “review bombing”.

According to her, dozens of one-star reviews appeared overnight in what she described as an attempt to damage her business’s reputation.

In the video, the actress appeared visibly distressed and spoke about the challenges of running a business as a woman in Pakistan. She highlighted issues such as harassment, corruption, and social pressure that female entrepreneurs often face.

Khattak said the experience had been emotionally difficult, especially after starting the venture from scratch with high hopes. Despite the criticism, she maintained that she intended to build a successful restaurant and not to offend anyone.

The incident has sparked a wider debate online about communication by public figures and how social media reactions can quickly impact personal reputation and business ventures.
