Pakistan delivered a solid performance at the Asian Road Cycling Championships 2026 held in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia, from 5–11 February 2026, securing medals and competitive placements across multiple categories.
Rabia Garib (SSGC) delivered an outstanding performance in the Masters 50+ category, winning two Gold medals in both the Individual Time Trial (ITT) and the Road Race. Demonstrating exceptional competitiveness, she also ranked as the 3rd fastest rider overall among all Masters ITT age groups, highlighting Pakistan’s growing presence in masters cycling at the Asian level.
Zainab Rizwan (BCA) also showcased strong form in the Masters 40–44 category, securing a Bronze medal in the Individual Time Trial and a Silver medal in the Road Race, further strengthening Pakistan’s medal tally.
MCI Hosts CDA Cycling Championship to Promote Green Mobility
In the Men’s Elite category, Ali Ilyas (SSGC) produced a commendable performance by finishing 13th in the Individual Time Trial, outperforming riders from several Asian countries. He also successfully completed the Men’s Elite Road Race, finishing ahead of cyclists representing well-established cycling nations.
From a performance management perspective, these outcomes clearly indicate that Pakistan’s masters athletes are delivering podium results while the elite riders are steadily improving their competitive benchmarking at the continental level. The results underline the strategic potential for Pakistan to further strengthen its standing in Asian cycling through continued athlete development, international exposure, and structured performance programs.
