Gwadar mountain raid seizes drugs worth 110 million

Joint forces find huge drug stash in Gwadar mountains. ANF arrests six suspects in separate raids across different cities.

Pakistan Navy  – (Web Desk) – A joint operation by the Pakistan Coast Guards and the Pakistan Navy led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs hidden in the mountains of the Jiwani area in Gwadar.

Officials said the forces recovered about 1,050 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of meth, also known as ice. The drugs were hidden in the hills and were likely meant to be smuggled out of the country by sea. According to the spokesperson, the estimated international value of the seized drugs is more than 110 million dollars.

The Pakistan Coast Guards said they remain determined to stop drug trafficking and break the networks behind it. Authorities also believe that such illegal trade often helps fund terrorist groups.

In a separate action, the Anti Narcotics Force carried out three operations in different cities. Six suspects, including two women, were arrested and about 87.4 kilograms of drugs worth 8.7 million rupees were recovered.

According to ANF spokesperson, 26.4 kg hashish was recovered from a man and a woman riding a motorcycle near Faizpur of District Sheikhupura.

About one kg hashish hidden in a punching pad in a parcel was recovered from a courier office located on Ring Road Peshawar.
