PTI sit-in protesting Imran health enters second consecutive day today
PTI lawmakers continue sit-in, demand urgent medical care for Imran Khan, amid road closures and heavy police presence in Islamabad.
Islamabad – (Web Desk) – The sit-in by lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) continued for a second day on Saturday at the Parliament House, KP House, and Parliament Lodges. The protest is being held to raise concerns over the health of former prime minister Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned at Adiala Jail.
Heavy police deployment was seen both inside and outside Parliament House, with its main gates shut to maintain security. Among those present at KP House were Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, along with several PTI members of the national and provincial assemblies.
At the same time, many PTI lawmakers also staged their protest at Parliament Lodges. Meanwhile, the district administration of Islamabad had already blocked roads leading to the Red Zone on Friday to prevent any unrest during the opposition’s demonstration.
