Islamabad Launches Strict Registration Drive for Taxis and Ride-Sharing Bikes
DC confirmed that the official registration process will begin tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Islamabad administration has announced strict action against unregistered taxis and ride-sharing bikes operating in the city.
The district authorities have decided to implement formal registration for all online taxi services, requiring the collection of complete information on drivers and their vehicles.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner East has been directed to contact CEOs of all taxi services, while the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Secretary of the Islamabad Transport Authority to conduct a crackdown on unregistered bike operators.

Under the new system, all vehicle and bike registrations will be digitally automated, with Islamabad Police having full access to the data. After registration, drivers will be required to upload passenger details onto the app, and no ride will be permitted without recording the passenger’s ID number.
The Deputy Commissioner confirmed that the official registration process will begin tomorrow.
