Pakistan, Azerbaijan Navies Discuss Enhanced Cooperation During Official Visit

Azerbaijan Naval Commander visits Islamabad to boost defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, paid an official visit to Pakistan, meeting Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, 24NewsHD reported.

Upon arrival, Rear Admiral Mammadov was welcomed by Admiral Ashraf and a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy, which presented a guard of honour. The visiting dignitary also laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada’s Monument to honor Pakistan’s fallen heroes.

During the meeting, both naval leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security, and avenues to enhance cooperation in training and defence. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and diversifying the existing bilateral defence relationship.

Pakistan invited to US Iran nuclear talks

A briefing on Pakistan Navy’s ongoing projects was also provided to the visiting commander, highlighting the country’s capabilities and ongoing initiatives in maritime security.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan share longstanding brotherly relations with a history of close naval cooperation. The visit of Rear Admiral Mammadov is expected to further boost collaboration between the two countries, particularly in the field of naval defence.
