Lahore (29.01.2026): Renowned writer and researcher Mudassar Bashir, a two-time winner of the prestigious International Dhahan Award (British Columbia, Canada), has achieved another significant literary milestone by securing First Position in the Prose (نثر) category for his novel “Goyal” at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PILAC) Awards 2024.
The annual awards, organized by PILAC under the Government of Punjab, aim to recognize outstanding literary contributions across multiple genres including poetry, prose, research, translation, and children’s literature in regional languages. Mudassar Bashir’s novel Goyal stood out among numerous submissions for its intellectual depth, narrative strength, and artistic excellence, earning unanimous appreciation from the jury.
