Punjab Speaker Lauds Pakistan Customs on International Customs Day

Faisalabad: (Abdul Majid) : International Customs Day was celebrated across Pakistan with enthusiasm, dignity and a strong sense of national responsibility. A prestigious ceremony was held at the Pakistan Customs School, Lahore, attended by senior customs officials, government representatives and officers from various collectorates.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan graced the occasion as chief guest and, in his address, emphasized that the Customs Department plays a vital role in strengthening the national economy through revenue collection, curbing smuggling and safeguarding the country’s borders. He praised the integrity, professionalism and dedication of customs officers, calling them the true defenders of Pakistan’s economic frontiers.

Officers from the Sargodha Collectorate, including Collector Customs Taimur Kamal Malik and Additional Collector Falak Sher Rana, also attended the event. During the ceremony, officers who delivered outstanding performance during 2025–26 were awarded honorary certificates.

Deputy Collector Akmal Shahzad Durrani, Superintendent Syed Imran Saeed and Customs Inspector Malik Muhammad Aslam Sangla were honored for their exceptional service, integrity and commitment. The awards were presented by the Speaker Punjab Assembly, drawing applause from the audience. Participants particularly congratulated Malik Muhammad Aslam Sangla, terming the recognition a matter of pride for the Sargodha Collectorate and Pakistan Customs. The ceremony concluded with renewed resolve to enhance institutional strength, national unity and service to the country.
