Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Issues Warning on Inactive SIM Cards

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a warning regarding the deactivation of SIM cards that have been inactive for six months.

According to PTA, telecom operators have the authority to block SIMs that have not been used for calls, messages, or internet activity for 180 days. Once deactivated, these numbers may be reissued to other users.

PTA officials emphasized that after a SIM is reassigned, the previous owner will have no legal claim over the number. The authority urged subscribers to use their SIMs responsibly to avoid deactivation.
