Over 140 Million Accounts Exposed in Data Leak
Massive Data Leak Compromises Gmail, Facebook, Instagram Accounts
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Cybersecurity experts have revealed that a misconfigured cloud database has led to the leak of sensitive data of over 140 million users across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, and other online services.
According to international news agencies, the unsecured database was discovered by renowned cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler, who reported that it contained approximately 96 gigabytes of user information.
The leaked data includes usernames, passwords, email addresses, and details of accounts linked to various online services. Investigations show that the affected accounts include:
-
48 million Gmail accounts
-
17 million Facebook accounts
-
6.5 million Instagram accounts
-
3.4 million Netflix accounts
-
780,000 TikTok accounts
-
420,000 Binance accounts
-
100,000 OnlyFans accounts
Additionally, millions of Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, and educational institution email accounts were also compromised.
Experts clarified that the leak was not the result of a single company’s system being hacked, but rather data collected from multiple sources. It was reported that a specific virus infects mobile phones and computers, stealing passwords, login details, and other sensitive information stored in browsers, which is then transmitted to hackers.

Cybersecurity authorities warned that such data leaks significantly increase risks of account misuse, financial fraud, identity theft, and the sending of fake messages—especially for users who reuse passwords across multiple platforms.
Experts have advised users to immediately change their passwords, enable two-factor authentication (2FA), and closely monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity.
