Saudi Arabia pledges new financial aid to Yemen government

Saudi Arabia provides new support to Yemen, ensuring salaries for employees, military personnel, and improving living conditions nationwide.

Saudi Ambassador – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction, Mohammed Al-Jaber, announced that the Kingdom has provided fresh support to Yemen’s government budget, following the directives of its leadership. This aid is aimed at ensuring timely payment of salaries for state employees across all sectors.

In a post on X, Al-Jaber explained that this support is part of a larger development package worth SR1.9 billion, unveiled on Wednesday. The package also includes essential petroleum supplies to run power plants, which will help improve living conditions and ease daily challenges for the Yemeni people.

He added that salaries for all military and security personnel under the higher military committee linked to the Saudi-led Coalition will be disbursed starting Sunday.

The post is likely related to Several Media reports which have suggested that disgraced former Southern Transitional Council (STC) chief Aidaroos Al Zubaidi — who has now fled Yemen — was taking advantage of military personnel and withholding salaries as means of pressure. Al-Zubaidi is wanted by the Yemeni government for acts of high treason and corruption.
