To manage the rush, additional staff and stock have been deployed at registration centers, and Assistant Commissioners have been inspecting centers to ensure smooth operations. The number of M-Tag centers has also been increased to 16 to facilitate public access.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon stated that vehicles without M-Tags will be stopped at various entry points starting January 1, and tag readers installed to detect untagged vehicles will be activated on the same date.
He directed staff at M-Tag centers to expedite the tagging process and assured that all possible facilities were being provided to help citizens meet the deadline. Authorities urged vehicle owners to obtain M-Tags as soon as possible to avoid inconvenience once enforcement begins.
