Shah Rukh Khan Expresses Desire to Visit Pakistan with His Children

DUBAI: Renowned Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his wish to visit Pakistan, saying he hopes to one day travel to Peshawar with his children.

An old video of Pakistan’s former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has resurfaced on social media in which she invites Shah Rukh Khan to visit Pakistan. During an event, she told the actor that he is as popular in Pakistan as he is in India.

In response, Shah Rukh Khan shared that his family has roots in Peshawar and that some relatives still live in the Qissa Khwani area. Hina Rabbani Khar then encouraged him to visit, saying he already has a strong reason to come to Peshawar.

Shah Rukh Khan replied that he would definitely visit Pakistan one day, adding that he wants to bring his children to show them his ancestral homeland. He recalled that his father took him to Peshawar when he was 15 years old, and he visited again the following year before his father passed away.

He said he spent some of his most memorable moments with his father in Peshawar and Swat, and also visited cities such as Lahore and Karachi.
