Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested six human smugglers involved in migrant smuggling and visa fraud during multiple operations carried out by its Anti-Human Smuggling Circles in Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Muhammad Qasim, Abdul Mannan, Shakeel Ahmed, Ajmal, Sajjad Hussain, and Muhammad Irfan. They were apprehended from various areas of Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
According to FIA officials, suspect Muhammad Qasim deceived citizens by promising jobs in Iraq and extorted Rs 350,000 from them. Abdul Mannan allegedly took Rs 790,000 after offering employment in Saudi Arabia. Shakeel Ahmed collected Rs 1.46 million by falsely claiming to arrange jobs in Iraq, while Ajmal received Rs 800,000 on similar pretexts. Sajjad Hussain is accused of taking Rs 250,000 from a citizen by promising employment in Saudi Arabia.

Officials further stated that Muhammad Irfan was wanted by the FIA in three separate cases and had extorted millions of rupees from several citizens by falsely promising overseas employment.
The suspects failed to send the victims abroad and went into hiding after collecting large sums of money. Further investigations are currently underway.
