Federal Cabinet Approves Visa Clearance System
PM said he has personally offered talks to political parties on multiple occasions.
ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday approved the Visa Clearance System on the recommendation of the Ministry of Interior.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The cabinet also approved the National Cannabis Control and Regulatory Policy 2025.
According to an official statement, the Visa Clearance System aims to facilitate Pakistanis traveling abroad by introducing a more transparent and secure mechanism for obtaining visas.
The statement said the National Cannabis Control and Regulatory Policy 2025 seeks to promote the use of plant-based materials in the pharmaceutical and textile sectors.

In addition, the cabinet ratified decisions taken during the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting held on December 18.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government remains committed to a principled stance of dialogue with all political parties to ensure political harmony. He said he has personally offered talks to political parties on multiple occasions.
The prime minister also made it clear that the government will not allow any attempt to disrupt law and order under the guise of negotiations. The cabinet meeting concluded after a review of the approved agenda items.
