FIR Registered Against Private School Principal in Sialkot Over Viral Dance Video
Authorities said the lyrics of the song contain references to alcohol and adult theme
SIALKOT: Police have registered an FIR against the principal of a private school in Sialkot after a video showing schoolchildren dancing to a Bollywood song went viral on social media.
The case was lodged at Sabz Pir Police Station after footage from a school fun fair in the suburban area of Chobara circulated widely online. The video showed students dancing to the Indian song Lehnga by Diljit Dosanjh, which was played loudly during the event.
Authorities said the lyrics of the song contain references to alcohol and adult themes, making it inappropriate for a school environment. Following public criticism, police booked the school principal for negligence, citing poor judgment and lack of proper oversight.

Police officials stated that responsibility lies with the school administration for allowing such content at a children’s event, emphasizing that educational institutions are expected to ensure age-appropriate entertainment.
The incident has sparked debate on social media about supervision at school events, with many stressing the need for greater responsibility from school management rather than placing blame on the children involved.
