Under 19 Asia Cup: Pakistan reach final with win over Bangladesh

Pakistan U19 booked their place in the Under 19 Asia Cup final after a comfortable win over Bangladesh in the second semi-final in Dubai. Chasing a modest target of 122, Pakistan reached the total for the loss of just two wickets, with Samir Minhas playing a starring innings.

Pakistan had won the toss and opted to field first. Rain had earlier reduced the match to 27 overs per side.

Bangladesh struggled against disciplined Pakistani bowling and were bundled out for 121 in 26.3 overs. Abdul Subhan was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets. Huzayfah Ahsan took two, while Ali Raza, Muhammad Siyyam, and Ahmad Hussain picked up one wicket apiece.

With the win, Pakistan will now face the winner of the first semi-final in the final of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially launched the player registration process for the much-anticipated 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), marking the start of preparations for a significantly expanded tournament.

In a major development, the league will expand from six to eight franchises for the first time. The auction for the two new teams will be held in Islamabad on January 8, 2026, and is scheduled to be broadcast live, generating significant anticipation among fans and investors alike.

With this expansion, PSL 11 is now confirmed to be an eight-team event. The tournament window has been set for March 26 to May 3, 2026. The registration portal for foreign players is now open, with the deadline for player entries set for January 20, 2026.
