List of World’s Most Indebted Countries Released for 2025

Foreign media reports highlighted that Pakistan is not among the world’s top indebted countries this year.

ISLAMABAD: The world’s most indebted countries for the year 2025 have been announced by global economic institutions.

The report considered total national debt, debt-to-GDP ratios, and, in many cases, both public and government debts.

According to the findings, Japan continues to top the list, with its debt expected to reach 242 percent of GDP in 2025. Other countries featured in the top 10 most indebted include the United States, France, Italy, Maldives, Singapore, Sudan, and Greece.
