Trump–MBS Hold High-Level Talks at White House

Officials added that these agreements fall under Saudi Arabia’s commitment to invest $600 billion in the United States.

Washington — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived at the White House to meet U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to international news agencies, President Trump welcomed the Crown Prince upon his arrival, stepping outside the White House to greet him with a handshake. Senior U.S. and Saudi officials were also present during the reception.

Following a ceremonial aircraft fly-past, President Trump and the Crown Prince proceeded inside, where their meeting is scheduled to take place in the Oval Office.

A senior official has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Saudi football club Al-Nassr, is also present at the White House.

U.S. officials stated that the meeting is expected to include discussions on expanding defense cooperation, signing defense procurement agreements, Saudi investment in U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure, and an agreement to enhance U.S.–Saudi civil nuclear energy cooperation, among other major deals.

Officials added that these agreements fall under Saudi Arabia’s commitment to invest $600 billion in the United States.

President Trump has previously expressed willingness to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is seeking a formal security guarantee from the United States. The U.S. President is working to fulfill the $600 billion investment commitments made during his visit to Saudi Arabia in May.

This marks the Crown Prince’s first trip to the United States since the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
