KP CM Afridi is once again unable to meet Imran, the IHC chief justice.
KP Chief Minister repeatedly blocked from meeting imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
KP – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, stated he faced another setback on Thursday. He was stopped from meeting the founder of his party, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. He also shared that he was unable to meet the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court earlier that day.
Since becoming Chief Minister on October 15, Mr. Afridi has tried to visit Imran Khan in prison. This was his fifth attempt, and each time he has been turned away. This continues to happen even though the Islamabad High Court has given orders allowing meetings with the former prime minister twice a week.
Speaking to the press outside the prison, Mr. Afridi expressed his frustration. He revealed he had waited for an hour and a half to see the Chief Justice but had to leave without a meeting. He then came directly to the jail, where he was again refused.
He addressed claims that his party seeks to cause unrest, stating he has only pursued legal and peaceful methods. The Chief Minister suggested that a hidden power is at work, saying that officials tell him they cannot act without “orders from the top.” He expressed confusion about who is ultimately giving these commands.

Mr. Afridi’s efforts to meet the former leader have been ongoing. The day after he took his oath, he went to the jail but waited for two hours without success. The courts have since issued notices to the jail officials, but access continues to be denied.
After another failed attempt on October 28, Imran Khan directed Mr. Afridi to finally choose his cabinet for the province. Despite being blocked once more on October 30, the Chief Minister has since announced his team of ministers.
