Sarwat Gilani Accuses ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’ Makers of Unprofessional Behavior
The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani franchise has been a major success at the Pakistani box office
ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani has publicly accused Jawani Phir Nahi Ani producer Humayun Saeed and director Nadeem Baig of unprofessional conduct, revealing she will not be a part of the franchise’s third film.
In a recent interview, Gilani disclosed that she faced inappropriate treatment during the production of both earlier installments. According to her, her role in the first film was significantly reduced without any prior notice. As a result, she initially declined to participate in the sequel. However, after assurances from director Nadeem Baig, she agreed — only to find herself sidelined once again.
“They gave no importance to my character,” Gilani stated, adding that she was even excluded from the film’s promotional tour in London, despite booking her own ticket. “The entire team flew to London, and I wasn’t even informed,” she said, expressing clear disappointment.

The actress further lamented being treated as an afterthought by the film’s team, saying, “They only remember me when they need something. Once they’ve got what they want, they move on and forget.”
Emphasizing her need for respect and professional recognition, Gilani stated firmly, “I can no longer compromise on my dignity. I deserve equal respect and a fair share of acknowledgment for my work.”
While she clarified that she holds no personal grudges against Saeed or Baig, she confirmed she will not be appearing in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3.
The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani franchise has been a major success at the Pakistani box office, with Gilani playing the popular role of Vasay Chaudhry’s wife. However, her revelations have now cast a shadow over the much-anticipated third installment.
