Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan sign a new film industry partnership deal.

Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan partner to co-produce films and host joint cultural festivals for industry growth.

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Department of Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyzstan Trade House for cooperation in the promotion, co-production, and distribution of the film industry.

On behalf of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the document was signed by Director Ulan Adamaliev, while on behalf of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House, it was signed by President Dr. Shahida Hasan.

According to this document, both institutions will work together for the development of the film industry.

Key points of the agreement include:

  • Advancing and expanding mutual cooperation in the film industries of both countries,
  • Taking steps, in accordance with each country’s laws, to improve the film industry,
  • Producing high-quality films,
  • Organizing film festivals in both countries,
  • Exchanging information,

And providing equal opportunities to move forward based on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation.

The implementation period of this MoU is five years.

After the signing ceremony, Ulan Adamaliev and Dr. Shahida Hasan expressed hope that as a result of this Memorandum of Understanding, Pakistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan will move forward together and cooperate actively in the field of culture.
