Lawyers Demand Jobs for Trained Youth, FIRs Against Officials in Ghotki Protests

A protest demonstration and sit-in were held outside Mari Energy Company in Daharki, led by District Bar Council Ghotki President Shahnawaz Waseer, Sindh Bar Council Vice Chairman Shafqat Rahim Rajput, and Sindh Bar Council member Abdul Razaq Mahar. The lawyers, joined by local youth and civil society representatives, staged the protest against the Mari Energy administration and the Ghotki district administration.

According to details, after the police fired tear gas and lathi-charge on the protesting youth yesterday, several youths were arrested and cases were registered against them and against journalists Azam Suhryani, Zaheer Ahmed Soomro, Ashraf Mughal and others at Daharki and Dad laghari police stations. Today, the Daharki court granted bail and released many of the arrested youths.

After which, political and social leaders, civil society, students and lawyers set up a protest camp outside the main gate of Mari Energy and protested. On this occasion, the lawyers and leaders said that hundreds of youths from Ghotki district who had taken courses in Mari Energy and KPK and were not given jobs by the company after two years, were forced to peacefully protest at the main gate, in which a shepherd slapped a student and At the behest of the energy administration, the police fired tear gas shells and lathi-charged the youth, arrested them and shifted them to an unknown location.

We, the lawyers of the Sindh Bar, will continue the sit-in until all the youth are given jobs and the administration of Mari Energy and SP Ghotki. DSP Ubauro. SHO Daharki. Mukhtiar Kar Ashraf Pitafi and DIB in-charge have not registered an FIR against them. Our protest will continue.
