Novak Djokovic cruises into the US Open’s fourth round
Aging Like a Fine Champion: Djokovic's relentless pursuit of greatness continues with another record-breaking performance.
US—(Special Correspondent/Web Desk)—Novak Djokovic is through to the US Open’s fourth round after a strong win against Cam Norrie. The match showed why he is one of the greatest players of all time.
He played incredibly well, especially with his serve. He fired 18 aces on his way to a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-3 victory.
At 38 years old, this win made him the oldest man ever to reach this stage of the US Open.
This was also his 192nd hard court win in a major tournament. That breaks the record he once shared with the legendary Roger Federer.
There was a scary moment after the first set when Djokovic needed a medical check. However, he shook it off and finished the match strongly. This marks his 69th time reaching the final 16 of a major, tying another record held by Federer.

He will next play German player Jan-Lennard Struff.
Djokovic did not give details about his injury after the match. He joked, “I’m good. I’m as young as ever and as strong as ever.”
This is the third major tournament this year where he has faced a mid-match injury. It happened twice before at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. The US Open is his first event since Wimbledon, and he has been working hard to find his best form.
