Court sends Imran Khan’s nephew to jail on judicial remand

Court Decides Against Police, Orders Jail Remand for Imran Khan's Nephew

Lahore—(Special Correspondent/Web Desk)—An anti-terrorism court in Lahore has made a decision. They rejected the police’s request to keep Imran Khan’s nephew, Sher Shah, in their custody for more questioning. Instead, the court ordered that he be held in jail for the next 14 days. This is related to the case about the attack on Jinnah House.

Earlier, on Saturday, police brought Sher Shah to the court under very tight security. The police asked the judge for permission to hold him for five more days to continue their investigation.

The police officer told the court that video evidence shows Sher Shah was at the scene of the Jinnah House attack. However, his lawyer, Barrister Salman Akram Raja, argued against the arrest. He said it was not fair because his client was arrested 27 months after the event happened. The lawyer warned that if arrests keep happening so late, many people could end up in jail.
