PM Shehbaz Sharif to meet Donald Trump in US next month.

The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and build on recent trade gains between both nations.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, is set for a key visit to the United States in September. He is scheduled to meet with former US President Donald Trump during his trip.

The main reason for the visit is for the Prime Minister to speak at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Before heading to the US, he will also make a stop in the United Kingdom. The country’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, will join him and plans to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

At the same time, Pakistan is getting ready for Secretary Rubio’s own visit in October. Officials from both countries see this as a major moment for improving their relationship.

In a welcome move, the US has decided to lower import taxes on goods from Pakistan. This decision is seen as a big win for trade between the two nations. The new tariff rate is set at 19%, which is a full 10% lower than what was first suggested. This gives Pakistani products an advantage, as exports from India face a 25% tax and those from Bangladesh face a 20% tax.

Pakistan’s Finance Ministry is very positive about this change. They believe it will create fresh opportunities for Pakistani items, like textiles, to be sold in the valuable American market. This is especially important because the textile industry is the largest part of the country’s exports.
