KP Flood Relief: How Affected Residents Can Claim Compensation
Payments will be transferred directly into their bank accounts.
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a mobile application, “Digital Disaster Compensation Management”, to ensure transparent and timely payments to flood-affected families in Buner, Swat and Bajaur.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur formally launched the app on Monday, developed on an emergency basis by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board and linked with the provincial government’s central service delivery platform, Dastak.
Through the app, victims can upload details of damage to their properties and claim compensation.
Payments will be transferred directly into their bank accounts.
Officials said the system is based on an automated and transparent mechanism, equipped with geo-tagging and automatic verification to block false information or fraudulent claims.
A central dashboard will also allow the chief minister, chief secretary and relevant authorities to monitor losses and compensation disbursements in real time.
Chairing the briefing, Gandapur called the launch of the digital payment system a “key initiative” to ensure both speed and transparency in compensation.
“Providing timely relief and facilities to flood victims is the priority of the provincial government,” he said, praising officials for developing the app in record time.
