AC Gilgit Orders Intensified Crackdown on Encroachments, Vows Personal Oversight

GilgitAssistant Commissioner and Administrator of the Municipal Corporation Gilgit, Captain (R) Adil Ali, has reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to eliminating illegal encroachments and improving urban infrastructure. He announced that daily operations will continue as part of efforts to restore Gilgit’s natural beauty and develop it into a model city.

Speaking during separate meetings with magistrates and municipal building inspectors on Tuesday, Captain (R) Adil Ali emphasized that the administration is actively addressing public concerns and striving to enhance the quality of life for residents.

He praised the efforts of sector magistrates in maintaining law and order, urging them to remain vigilant and responsive to the needs of the people. “Resolving public grievances must remain a top priority,” he said.

During his session with building inspectors, the Assistant Commissioner directed them to intensify the crackdown on illegal encroachments, ensuring that sidewalk regulations are enforced without causing undue hardship to citizens. “I will personally monitor the progress of these operations,” he stated, instructing the Chief Officer and Town Engineer to prepare a detailed schedule to enhance the efficiency of the municipal building department.
