ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in which the two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, including the successful conclusion of Hajj 2025, the Iran-Israel ceasefire, and the recent Pakistan-India tensions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the successful management and completion of Hajj 2025, extending his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the people of Saudi Arabia.
He also expressed deep gratitude to the Saudi government for its generous hospitality towards Pakistani pilgrims, who participated in this year’s pilgrimage.
In his conversation, PM Shehbaz commended Saudi Arabia’s constructive role during the recent escalation between Pakistan and India, noting that the Kingdom’s efforts helped de-escalate tensions in the region.
“Pakistan desires meaningful dialogue with India on all outstanding issues,” the prime minister said, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to diplomacy and peace in South Asia.
The two leaders also discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East, particularly the recent conflict between Iran and Israel. PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s stance in favour of a peaceful resolution through dialogue.
“We support adherence to the United Nations Charter and international laws, and urge all sides to resolve conflicts through peaceful means,” the premier stated.

During the call, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and lauded Islamabad’s constructive role in supporting peace initiatives during the crisis.
“Saudi Arabia remains committed to fostering lasting peace and prosperity in the Middle East,” the Crown Prince stated.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has also held separate phone calls with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During MBS’s call with the Iranian president, discussions focused on the ceasefire, and Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to resolve issues with the US within a global framework. He also maintained that “Israel started the war, and Iran ended it,” adding that the outcome reflected the “will of the Iranian people.”
In his conversation with Qatar’s emir, the Saudi crown prince strongly condemned Iran’s missile attack on a US base in Qatar, calling it unjustified and reaffirming full Saudi support for Qatar’s sovereignty.
Earlier, during his conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of restoring peace through dialogue and diplomacy.
According to details, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran at all diplomatic forums, including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He made it clear that Pakistan was closely following the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East. The prime minister also urged all parties to uphold international law and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent and principled support during the recent tensions. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Both leaders agreed on the significance of unity within the Islamic world during this difficult time and emphasised the need to maintain regular communication.
