Islamabad United Crush Peshawar Zalmi by 102 Runs in PSL 10 Clash
Haris Fights Alone as Zalmi Collapse for 141
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad United secured a dominant 102-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the fifth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Batting first after winning the toss, Islamabad United posted a massive total of 244 runs. The innings was anchored by an explosive century from Saim Ayub, who scored 106 runs off 52 balls, including 13 fours and 5 sixes. He was well supported by Colin Munro, who added 40 runs, and Salman Ali Agha, who chipped in with 30. Jason Holder (20*) and Ben Dwarshuis (18*) finished the innings strongly for United.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi struggled from the outset and were eventually bowled out for 141 runs. Captain Babar Azam failed to make an impact, while Mohammad Haris provided the only major resistance with a blistering 87-run knock. However, he found little support from the rest of the batting lineup.
For Islamabad, Imad Wasim starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets, while captain Shadab Khan claimed 2 wickets.
Both teams made changes to their squads before the match. Peshawar Zalmi replaced Max Bryant with George Linde, while Islamabad United brought in Saad Masood and Ben Dwarshuis in place of Mohammad Shehzad and Riley Meredith.
