Pakistan Likely to Be Placed Under “Orange Category” in US Travel Restrictions

US to Restrict Certain Visas for Pakistanis, Business Travel as Exception

ISLAMABAD: According to a report by The New York Times, Pakistan may be placed under the “Orange Category” in the upcoming US travel restrictions list. While this will not result in a complete travel ban for Pakistani citizens, it could lead to stricter scrutiny during visa applications.

The report indicates that specific types of visas for Pakistani nationals may be restricted, with business-related travel being one of the few exceptions under this new category. The proposed changes reflect a shift in US immigration and travel policies, potentially impacting thousands of Pakistanis seeking to enter the United States.

In addition to Pakistan, countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon are expected to face complete travel bans, while others like Libya, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen could also be added to the restricted list.

These changes, if implemented, could significantly affect travel dynamics between Pakistan and the US, with a focus on tightening immigration and border security.
