AJK PM Vows to Protect Citizens’ Lives, Property
Muzaffarabd-( Special Correspondent)-Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq emphasized that the primary objective of governments is to protect citizens’ lives and property. He stressed that adventurism and chaos must be stopped to ensure development and progress.
Addressing a reception ceremony organized by the Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Haq assured citizens that subsidies on cheap flour and electricity prices will continue, despite rumors suggesting otherwise. He encouraged citizens to verify information through reliable sources.
Haq acknowledged the right to peaceful protest but cautioned that indefinite protests can harm the common man’s livelihood. He urged citizens to think critically about participating in such protests and instead adopt the path of development.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation and trust between citizens and the government in solving problems. He assured that the government has taken steps to address the people’s concerns, prioritizing merit and transparency.
Haq also addressed the issue of the Public Protection and Safety Ordinance, stating that the government has invited the Bar Council for guidance and is consulting with people from all walks of life. He reiterated that the law would be made when the ordinance is presented in the assembly.
In a separate meeting, Haq met with Chairman Ulema Mashaikh Council Imtiaz Ahmed Siddiqui to discuss issues related to the Religious Affairs Department and the stability of religious madrasas. The Prime Minister assured that the government will provide necessary resources to maintain the Islamic identity in Azad Kashmir and has made long-term reforms in the Zakat and Ushr Department.
