PM Shehbaz holds key meeting to address PTI protest & political situation
LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened a crucial meeting in Lahore on Sunday to discuss the ongoing situation regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests in Islamabad and the broader political landscape. The meeting, held in the Model Town area, was attended by key political figures including National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz emphasized the need to address the current political challenges while also highlighting the country’s progress. “The country is on the verge of prosperity. We are making all-out efforts to steer the nation towards a brighter future,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to ensuring stability and growth.
In response to concerns within his own party and coalition, the Prime Minister also instructed the leadership to address the reservations raised by various political groups, especially within his party and among coalition partners.
PM Forms Committee to Resolve PPP Concerns
In a related move, PM Shehbaz Sharif earlier this week formed a committee aimed at resolving the concerns of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and strengthening bilateral cooperation. The committee’s objective is to bring PPP leadership on board and address their concerns, ensuring smoother political cooperation moving forward.
The committee, which includes senior government figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and several others, will engage in detailed talks with the PPP leadership. This initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s efforts to maintain unity within the ruling coalition and foster dialogue with opposition parties.

The committee is expected to play a pivotal role in bridging gaps and ensuring continued political stability as Pakistan navigates its current challenges. PM Shehbaz has instructed the committee to have comprehensive discussions with PPP leaders and present their concerns in a constructive manner.
These efforts by the Prime Minister demonstrate a proactive approach to managing political unrest and reinforcing cooperative governance amid the ongoing PTI protests.
