FBR Cracks Down on Unregistered Wealthy Individuals
Islamabad-The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a comprehensive plan to crack down on unregistered wealthy individuals, including those who don’t file taxes and those who falsely declare zero income. This move is part of the government’s efforts to boost revenue and tackle tax evasion.
This move comes after a directive from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The FBR has prepared to implement this enforcement strategy within its field formations.
In the first phase, notices will be sent to 5,000 identified non-filers, who collectively owe an estimated Rs7 billion in taxes. These individuals have been selected based on a thorough analysis of transaction data for around 200,000 non-filers.
