Rajpal Yadav Apologizes for Phone Incident Amid Diwali Firecracker Debate
Indian actor Rajpal Yadav has issued an apology to both his followers and a journalist after a recent incident where he snatched the journalist’s phone during an interview about Diwali firecrackers.
In a video posted on Instagram, Yadav expressed regret, saying, “If anyone was hurt by the video I shared, I sincerely apologize. Let’s ensure we celebrate Diwali with joy and safety.”
He also clarified his intentions in the post’s caption, stating, “I truly apologize. My aim was never to dampen the Diwali spirit. Let’s unite to make this festival special for everyone.”
Yadav’s apology followed a backlash over a video he shared, which some viewers felt went against the festive spirit of Diwali. The actor came under fire after he grabbed a journalist’s phone when asked about his views on firecrackers during the festival.
Yadav, who is making his return to the big screen in *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3* as Chhota Pandit, has been receiving praise for his performance. However, the controversy began after he urged fans in a video to avoid bursting firecrackers due to their harmful impact on air and noise pollution. This led to criticism, prompting him to delete the original video and issue an apology.
The situation escalated when a journalist from a prominent Hindi publication accused Yadav of taking their camera during an interview. The reporter claimed that Yadav attempted to throw the phone after being questioned about his earlier remarks on Diwali firecrackers.
In the footage, Yadav is seen surrounded by a crowd when a reporter asks about his upcoming projects. When the reporter brings up his previous comments on Diwali, Yadav quickly covers the camera, cutting off the question.
