Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has submitted his response to the show-cause notice issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following his supportive comments about Babar Azam.
Sources indicate that Zaman stated in his reply that Babar Azam is both a friend and a fellow cricketer. He emphasized, “There was no intention to disrespect the PCB or anyone else by expressing support for Babar Azam.”
Zaman clarified, “As a centrally contracted player, I receive a salary. My comments were solely about Babar Azam’s cricketing abilities, and I believe he should have been given a chance during this challenging time.”
He further explained, “The intention behind my statement was not to upset the PCB but to share my perspective.”
In his response, Zaman reaffirmed, “The PCB is our institution, which we respect and will continue to uphold.”
