Air India Flight Diverted to Delhi Following Bomb Threat
An Air India flight traveling from Mumbai to New York was rerouted to Delhi due to a bomb threat, as reported by Indian media citing airport officials.
The aircraft, carrying both passengers and crew, landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where strict safety measures were promptly implemented.
“The plane is currently parked at the airport, and all required security protocols are being meticulously followed to ensure the safety of everyone on board,” stated DCP (IGI) Usha Rangnani.
In accordance with standard procedures, the aircraft was taken to an isolation area, allowing passengers to be safely disembarked and moved to the terminal. A multi-agency team is now conducting a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft.
Details regarding the bomb threat remain limited, and investigations are still underway.
