Rawalpindi-Security officials in Pakistan have issued a statement to clarify the government’s stance on negotiations with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the ongoing court-martial proceedings of former ISI chief Faiz Hameed.
They ephasized that the army is a state institution and remains aligned with the government’s directives.
In a statement, the security authorities questioned the rationale behind engaging in talks with those responsible for shedding the blood of innocent Pakistanis. Regarding the ongoing court-martial proceedings of Faiz Hameed, officials confirmed that all relevant evidence is being examined.
“Whatever Faiz Hameed did, he did at the behest of the then political regime,” the security authorities stated.
They further highlighted that there was an attempt to use the military for political purposes, with Hameed seeing himself as above the system and closely aligned with a particular political ideology.
Security officials criticized individuals like Adil Raja, accusing them of spreading misinformation from abroad. “They don’t know anything and are selling lies,” they said.
Regarding the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials asserted that they would withdraw from Lakki Marwat once the provincial government requests it.
