Peshawar High Court Orders Removal of Shaukat Yousafzai’s Name from ECL

Peshawar: Peshawar High Court Orders Removal of Shaukat Yousafzai’s Name from ECL, The Peshawar High Court has directed the removal of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shaukat Yousafzai’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL), clearing the way for his international travel.

The court, led by Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal, heard a petition challenging the travel ban imposed on Yousafzai. During the hearing, Yousafzai’s lawyer argued that the leader had been prevented from boarding flights to Europe and previously faced similar restrictions when attempting to travel for Umrah.

The lawyer pointed out that Yousafzai’s name was placed on the ECL due to an FIR in Shangla, although he is currently on bail.

The FIA Director Legal informed the court that the inclusion of Yousafzai’s name in the ECL was based on a Home Department directive. However, the Home Department has since cleared Yousafzai, leading the FIA to raise no further objections.

Following the submission, the court ordered the immediate removal of Shaukat Yousafzai’s name from the ECL, allowing him to resume his travel plans.
