Sindh Govt appoints 29 New Parliamentary Secretaries amid Financial Strain

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah allocated roles to members of the Sindh Assembly, with responsibilities ranging from food and transport to health and education.

KARACHI, The Sindh government has appointed 29 parliamentary secretaries across various departments, further burdening the state treasury. This expansion includes 18 ministers, 2 advisors, 10 special assistants, and 8 spokespersons alongside the newly appointed secretaries.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah allocated roles to members of the Sindh Assembly, with responsibilities ranging from food and transport to health and education. Each parliamentary secretary will receive substantial benefits, including a monthly allowance, official vehicle with driver, housing, and other perks like overseas travel and medical facilities.

Critics argue that this expansion comes at a time when financial deficits are already a pressing issue for the provincial government, raising questions about fiscal prudence and resource allocation.
