IHC Demands Responses on Imran Khan’s Plea for Uninterrupted Jail Visits

Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the plea, directing all parties to submit their responses by next week.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to the Secretary Interior, Defense Secretary, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, and the Punjab Home Department in response to PTI founder Imran Khan‘s request for interference-free meetings in Adiala Jail.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the plea, directing all parties to submit their responses by next week. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Shoaib Shaheen, argued that Khan should be permitted to meet with party leaders without interference, urging an end to the involvement of intelligence agency officials in jail administration.

The court has adjourned the hearing until next week, following the issuance of notices. This development comes a day after the court scheduled the hearing for Imran Khan’s request to ensure uninterrupted jail meetings.
