Pakistan Football Team Heads to Tajikistan for Crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifier

ISLAMABAD: The national football team of Pakistan has successfully departed for Dushanbe to compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers round 2 match against Tajikistan, scheduled for today at 8 pm Pakistan time.

Initially, the team’s departure faced a setback when their chartered flight was halted due to a technical issue. However, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) swiftly intervened, securing alternative arrangements.

With the special intervention of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the team was able to depart on a Pakistan Air Force special aircraft from Noor Khan Air Base.

This match marks the final game for Pakistan in the current round of FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. All eyes will be on the team as they strive to make a significant impact on the international stage.

Pakistan Triumphs Over Iran to Win Under-18 Central Volleyball Championship

In a thrilling final of the Under-18 Central Volleyball Championship held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Pakistan clinched the gold medal by defeating Iran in a remarkable comeback victory.

Despite losing the first set 20-25, the Pakistani team rallied to win the next three sets with scores of 25-20, 18-25, 23-25, and 25-27. This victory not only secured the championship title for Pakistan but also qualified them for the Asian Under-20 Volleyball Championship set to begin on July 28 in Bahrain.

Pakistan’s victory marks a significant achievement in the youth volleyball arena, showcasing the team’s resilience and skill on an international stage.
