85% work completed on Model Jail, NPA Hostel Islamabad
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reviews Islamabad’s Model Jail and NPA hostel construction, ensuring timely completion and modern police facilities.
Islamabad – (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Model Jail and the National Police Academy (NPA) hostel in Islamabad on Friday to review the ongoing construction work.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress and personally inspected the barracks. The long-delayed project, pending for 15 years, is now nearing completion, with 85 percent of the construction already finished.
Speaking on the occasion, Naqvi emphasized that, given the current security situation, building a new jail in the federal capital has become essential.
A detailed and comprehensive briefing was also given to Mohsin Naqvi, during which he was informed that the project was started in 2011.
The 85 percent construction work of phase-1 is already completed. The minister was told that a Central Control Room will be established for digital monitoring.

Mohsin Naqvi also examined the under-construction hostel for ASPs, during which he was told that construction work on security walls is underway.
The Interior Minister directed the relevant officials to focus on construction work. He said that the hostel will provide the best accommodation facilities to under-training police officials.
He said that the latest infrastructure of the National Police Academy will play an important role in the training of police officials.

Mohsin Naqvi was directed to start a double shift for the completion of the project. Inspector-General Police (IGP), Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Ali Randhwa, Director-General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Dr. Usman Anwar, and other relevant officials were also present on the occasion.
