LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has sealed 832 clinics operated by unqualified medical practitioners across the province as part of its ongoing anti-quackery campaign.

According to a PHC spokesperson, inspection teams conducted raids in 29 districts over the past five weeks, targeting 2,954 healthcare centres suspected of being run by unlicensed individuals. The commission has also placed 1,590 centres under continuous monitoring to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Additionally, 354 quacks voluntarily shut down their illegal clinics or converted them into legitimate businesses. Lahore recorded the highest number of closures, with 223 centres sealed.

To date, the commission has carried out more than 246,000 inspections across Punjab, sealing over 63,500 illegal medical facilities, while more than 29,350 unqualified practitioners have voluntarily ceased their unlawful operations.

The PHC reiterated its commitment to eliminating quackery from the province and ensuring that all citizens receive treatment only from qualified and registered healthcare professionals.
